SOCIAL INNOVATION GAME CHANGER WORKSHOP

NESTA cordially invites you to join a day of peer review, learning and action with a wide range of enablers of social innovation. The aims of the day are to:

  • Learn from practitioners’ experience of facilitating transformatory innovation – expert witness is a central feature for the day.
  • Build a collective view of the state of the field – do we have agreed parameters, how are we learning and adapting?
  • Debate the ways important drivers will shape the field – new commitments from the state, an increasingly confident social finance sector, changing appetites among service users and innovators.
  • Discuss the role for NESTA’s Public Services Innovation Laboratory and look for the fit with your work.
  • Identify the priorities for the coming year, strengthen your networks and negotiate the collaborations that will help the social innovation field shift gear.

The workshop is participatory. Speakers will provide impetus, but you will have ample opportunity to pursue your goals.

The day is also cumulative. So while the last session looks deceptively relaxed, this is where you consider what everything you have heard and discussed really means – we figure you’ll have your best ideas when the formal business is done – and where you can indicate an interest in practical collaborations.

Among your peers will be a wide range of enablers, including intermediaries, design and incubation agencies, capacity-builders and funders, who together reflect the plurality of approaches being used to foster critical innovation. They will be joined by a growing number of policy makers who aim to create a more enabling environment.
